I was looking for something to boost my immune system and reduce inflammation. I don’t know if it’s the reduction of inflammation that perks me up or just the potency of vitamins, but 1 or 2 with lunch perks me up in the afternoon with no tummy aches or jitters, which is great because I can only have a cup of tea in the morning (my insomnia is easily triggered). The perk up isn’t as dramatic as pantothenic acid, but it is certainly less dehydrating.
I tried these before bed a few times because my husband said they helped him sleep. It’s the opposite effect for me, so the few times I tried a pill at night, I was up until almost dawn. Doesn’t really make sense to me.
Who knows why we have completely opposite responses, but we’ve both experienced benefits from these little mushroom friends so I plan to re-stock when we run out.

I started taking this and have done my research before for those who don’t want to do it themselves. The Reishi Mushroom also goes by the name of Lingzhi Mushroom, which we have used as a sleep aid for several years. It was one of the 5 primary herbs that was taken by a man, Li Ching-Yuen, who died at the unusually old age of 256. Search for Li Ching-Yuen on the internet for details. I’ve been taking his formula for several years now. I think it works or has value. I started taking all 5 herbs with my morning supplements and felt sleepy, and remembered that he had attested that he slept quite well. I figured one was a sleep aid and should be taken only at night. My wife, an ER doctor, and I both use it. For those who find this makes them depressed and experience energy loss, take only at night. You will do better. It also appears to be non-habit forming.

After taking this Reishi product I noticed an increase in energy. The energy was not shaky type. Second, I noticed a my chest relaxed and felt lighter. Third, I dream much more at night. Sometimes with this I do feel a bit light headed. Overall, I feel like my mind is more relaxed, clearer and vision is better. Please only use an extract reishi supplement like this one. I recommend!
